Laurus Nobilis Aurea or ‘Golden Bay Tree’ and holder of the much coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit is an evergreen, conical shaped, upright tree. It has aromatic, narrowly ovate, leathery leaves, frequently used in the kitchen as a herb. During early Summer small clusters of pale yellow flowers appear which are followed by glossy black oval fruits. These Laurus, or bay, are traditionally trained and clipped as topiary, and often found grown in planters for the patio or conservatory.
