Cordyline Australis, also known as the ‘Cabbage Palm’ is a recipient of the prestigious Award of Garden Merit for its outstanding qualities. It is an upright, flowering, evergreen tree with gracefully arching, narrow, light green/olive coloured foliage. From July through to August, creamy white, sweetly scented flowers appear on the more mature plants, followed by white / blue tinted berries, providing a plentiful food supply for the garden wild-life. Superb architectural value giving a tropical feel to the garden, suitable evergreen tree for coastal planting schemes.

Generally pest and disease free, a low maintenance evergreen plant suitable for many if not all locations, is an easy to grow ornamental garden tree which will benefit from a sunny or semi-shaded area in all types of garden From cottage planting schemes, to more formal town gardens and widely used within our coastal areas. Prefers a fertile, well drained soil away from any cold Winter winds. Protection from any frosts may be required using fleece/similar material or if planted in containers moved indoors or to a more sheltered area of the garden.
