Choisya Sundance, also known as ‘Mexican Orange Blossom’, a recipient of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit is an aromatic, evergreen, compact, medium sized flowering shrub of rounded habit. The all year round bright yellow, palmately divided glossy foliage of this choisya will brighten any mixed shrub border or patio with the added bonus of fragrant clusters of star shaped snowy white flowers during Spring followed by a second flush during late Summer/Autumn, a valued pollinator attracting many butterflies and other beneficial insects to the garden. This superbly scented shrub will also make an ideal candidate for the sensory garden.

Looking After Your Choisya Sundance

Generally pest and disease free and an easy to grow evergreen flowering shrub in many if not all locations. A low maintenance shrub which can benefit from a sunny or partially shaded area, away from any very cold or drying Winter winds in all types of garden from cottage planting schemes to court-yard gardens or coastal areas. Plant in a fertile, moist , but well drained soil, feeding with a good quality general purpose fertiliser early Spring to encourage strong, fresh new growth in the coming season. Prune immediately after flowering, removing 25-30 cms of the flowered stem to encourage a second flush of flowers late Summer /early Autumn, at the same time removing any damaged or unwanted branches to give a general tidy.
