Caryopteris Summer Sorbet, also known as ‘Bluebeard’, is a small deciduous shrub with aromatic green leaves with a rich golden yellow variegation. The showy clusters of fluffy deep blue scented flowers are produced on the upper portion of the stem from mid Summer to Autumn, a magnet for the many of our garden butterflies, bees and other pollinators visiting the Summer garden. Ideal for planting within the shrub border, gravel beds, or container growing, and often cut and used for flowers arrangements.

How to care for your Caryopteris Summer Sorbet

  1. Plant in well-drained soil in a location that receives full sun.
  2. Water the plant regularly to establish the root system, then reduce watering as the plant becomes more established and drought tolerant. Be careful not to over-water.
  3. Fertilise the plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season.
  4. Regularly remove any dead or yellowing leaves to keep the plant looking its best.
  5. Prune back the plant in late Winter or early Spring to control the size and shape of the plant, and to encourage new growth.

By following these tips, you can help ensure that your Caryopteris Summer Sorbet stays healthy and thrives. This plant can be slow to establish itself, but once it does, it can be a beautiful and long-lasting addition to any garden.
