Callistemon Splendens, also known as ‘Crimson Bottlebrush’ is a holder of the much coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit and is an evergreen shrub of compact habit. Its distinctive foliage being pink and flushed red when young to dark green when mature along with its crimson red flowers that are formed throughout the Summer makes for an eye catching ornamental garden shrub ideal for growing against a sunny wall or as a specimen, providing plenty of interest throughout the season.
Looking After Your Callistemon Splendens
Generally pest and disease free, this variety is an easy to grow Summer flowering shrub in many if not all locations. A low maintenance shrub which will benefit from a sunny position in all types of garden. Callistemon will tolerate most soil conditions, preferring a fertile, humus rich, well drained area of the garden, away from any very cold, drying, Winter winds.
