Callicarpa Bodinieri profusion, also known as Beauty Berry, holder of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, is a bushy, upright, deciduous shrub with obovate, bronze when young then dark green leaves, changing again towards Autumn to rosey-pink. Clusters of star shaped lilac-pink flowers appear from June to July followed by dark violet fruits in the autumn. A superb addition to any garden border, brightening the dullest of weathers during the Autumn with the unusual brightness and colour of the berries, attracting many species of garden birds visiting the garden. Spectacular colouring when group planted.
Looking After Your Callicarpa Bodinieri Profusion
Generally pest and disease free, an easy to grow ornamental garden shrub in many if not all locations. Stunning in the Autumn/Winter when planted in groups of 2 or 3 plants. Callicarpa will tolerate most soil conditions, but will benefit from a humus rich, fertile, well drained one, once planted apply a generous layer of well rotted garden compost around the base. Any pruning required to remove damaged or unwanted branches to maintain height and shape is best achieved early Spring.
