Artemisia Ludoviciana Silver Queen, commonly known as Western Mugwort, is a compact, semi evergreen herbaceous perennial forming a low mound of slender, coarsely toothed, silver – grey aromatic foliage turning a greener shade with age, from August through to September erect plumes of mimosa – like golden yellow flowers appear, a welcome addition bringing colour to the flower border when other flowers begin to fade. Artemisia Silver Queen makes a stunning border and ground cover plant ideal for cottage or informal gardens, especially suiting the mediterranean/gravel planting scheme.
Looking After Your Artemisia Ludoviciana Silver Queen
Generally pest free an easy to grow flowering herbaceous perennial in many if not all locations. A very low maintenance plant preferring a well drained, moderately fertile soil in a sunny position within the garden, ideal for the cottage planting schemes or town courtyard flower borders, quite stunning planted within the mediteranean style garden. Late Autumn cut back spent stems/flowers and apply a generous mulch of well rotted garden compost.
