Osmanthus Goshiki, also known as the ‘Holly Olive’ and holder of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit is an evergreen, compact, rounded shrub. It has holly shaped, sharply toothed and glossy dark green leaves which are heavily variegated with shades of yellow. It was introduced in 1980 from Japan and was originally named Tricolor, but this was later changed to Goshiki, meaning five colours. Inconspicuous white fragrant flowers appear in late Summer or Autumn. This Osmanthus makes an ideal small hedge or colourful border plant.
