Fuchsia Mrs Popple or ‘Hardy Fuchsia’, and recipient of the much coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit makes a compact, fast growing, upright, deciduous garden shrub, ideal for the shrub border or as an informal hedge. The small dark green serrated foliage providing the perfect backdrop to the attractive scarlet and purple pendant like, single flowers formed in abundance on the gracefully arching stems from June right through to the first frosts.

Looking After Your Fuchsia Mrs Popple

An easy to grow, upright deciduous garden shrub in a sunny or partially shaded area of the garden, the sunnier the position the better the flower colour, preferring a fertile, moist and well drained soil.  Prune hard back in the Spring after the last of the frosts and provide a good quality, general purpose fertiliser to help encourage plenty of healthy, fresh new growth during the coming season. Autumn provide a good deep mulch around the base of the plant to help protect the roots from any frosts during the colder Winter months.
