Fuchsia Genii, holder of the RHS Award of Garden Merit  is an upright, deciduous shrub with mid-green foliage. Its compact habit makes this an ideal border plant or low hedge. The golden yellow foliage contrasts well against the red shoots.  Small single flowers have light pink tubes and sepals with purple corollas from Summer through to Autumn. Suitable for coastal planting.

How to care for your Fuchsia Genii

  1. Light and Temperature: The plant prefers a partially shaded area with morning sun and afternoon shade. It is hardy to zone 10 and can tolerate temperatures as low as 20°F.
  2. Soil: The plant thrives in well-drained, moist soil. Make sure the soil is consistently moist, but not waterlogged.
  3. Fertilisation: Fertilise the plant regularly with a balanced fertiliser to promote healthy growth.
  4. Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, but not waterlogged. Be mindful not to over-water the plant as this can lead to root rot.
  5. Pruning: Fuchsia Alice Hoffman is relatively low maintenance and does not require regular pruning, but should be pruned to shape and remove any damaged or diseased branches if necessary.
  6. Deadheading: Deadhead the spent blooms to encourage new growth and more blooms.

By following these care tips, you can help your Fuchsia Genii thrive and enjoy its beautiful blooms for many years to come.
