Agapanthus Silver Moon or often called the African Lily of the Nile, is a very attractive variegated Lily of the Nile, a deciduous perennial which will provide a stunning focal point within the Summer garden, with it’s glossy green, brightly striped silvery white, strap shaped leaves. From mid – late summer trumpet shaped pale blue flowers are formed in abundance on erect slender stems. This African Lily is quite vigorous and will reach a height of  60 cms, at it’s best when grown in full sun. A spectacular site when planted en – masse, within the flower border or in large containers as an accent plant. Suitable for coastal planting and excellent as part of cut flower arrangements.

Looking After Your Agapanthus Silver Moon

Generally pest and disease free, this easy to grow flowering perennial is ideally suited to any sunny area in all types of garden, from cottage planting schemes to container and courtyard gardens. Very little if any maintenance is required, although a general tidy each Spring to dead head and clear any damaged leaves, also applying a mulch of well rotted garden compost or general purpose fertiliser to help encourage fresh new growth during the coming season is always beneficial.
