Looking After Your Weigela Pink Poppet
Generally pest and disease free, an easy to grow dwarf flowering shrub in many if not all locations. A low maintenance plant which can benefit from a sunny or partially shaded area in all types of garden from the more informal cottage planting scheme to the more formal city or courtyard garden. Weigela will tolerate most soils, but it must be well drained, apply a good quality fertilizer early Spring to encourage new fresh growth in the coming season. Any pruning required to remove any damaged or unwanted stems to maintain shape or prevent overcrowding is best done after flowering, cutting back to healthy shoots.
