Trollius Golden Queen, commonly known as ‘Globeflower’, a recipient of the much coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit is an early flowering, clump forming herbaceous perennial, the bowl shaped golden orange flowers stand proudly on erect stalks above the deeply divided, toothed, dark green leaves. Quite spectacular when planted in mass along a damp border or for planting beside a pond or stream.

Looking After Your Trollius Golden Queen

Generally pest and disease free, although can be affected by powdery mildew ( easily treated ) an easy to grow herbaceous perennial in a sunny or partially shaded area of the garden. A moisture loving plant so ideally suited to the pond side or river bank location.Lift and divide large clumps late Autumn/early Spring to prevent overcrowding or increasing your planting scheme, as Trollius do not like to dry out provide a generous mulch of well rotted garden compost to help retain moisture during the dryer months. Cut back stems after flowering and fertilise to encourage flowering and fresh new leaf growth.
