Generally pest and disease free, a low maintenance and easy to grow evergreen garden shrub in many if not all locations form the informal cottage planting schemes to the more formal town/city or coastal garden, preferring a sunny or partially shaded area of the garden away from any very cold, drying Winter winds, ideal for the sunny border to add both height and colour. A moist, well drained, fertile soil will ensure you have aa healthy and happy shrub. Although generally maintenance free, remove any dead or damaged leaves late Spring, provide a god mulch of well rotted garden compost and apply a good quality general purpose fertiliser to stimulate plenty of fresh new growth.
