Kolkwitzia Pink Cloud, commonly known as ‘Beauty Bush’ and holder of the much coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit,  is a deciduous shrub in the Caprifoliaceae family.  This plant is native to China and is prized for its stunning clusters of delicate, bell-shaped flowers that bloom in late Spring to early Summer.

The Pink Cloud cultivar is a popular variety of Kolkwitzia due to its large clusters of rosy-pink flowers that are produced in abundance. The shrub has a graceful, arching habit and produces arching branches that are covered in shiny, green leaves.  It grows to a height of 3 metres and a spread of 4 metres, making it a good choice for a medium-sized garden.

How to care for your Kolkwitzia Pink Cloud

• Light: Prefers full sun to partial shade. It can tolerate some shade but will bloom best in full sun.
• Soil: Prefers well-draining soil that is slightly acidic to neutral in pH. If your soil is heavy clay or alkaline, consider amending it with compost or organic matter.
• Water: It is drought-tolerant once established, but will perform best with regular watering. Water the plant deeply once a week, or more often in hot, dry weather.
