Kniphofia Northia, commonly known as ‘Giant Red Hot Poker’ and holder of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit is an evergreen perennial with broad, smooth, strap shaped leaves.  In Summer its densely packed spikes of tubular reddish-orange, fading through to yellow and greenish cream appear.
