Hemerocallis Citrina, also known as the ‘Yellow Daylily’ and holder of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit, is a species of flowering plant that is native to Asia. It has long curved mid green leaves and from early June to late July bears on tall stems, truly beautiful scented, star shaped yellow/green flowers. Hemerocallis works very well as companion plants and looks brilliant planted in mass to form a sea of Summer colour. It thrives planted in well drained soil and a sunny area looking good at the back of a border.
The Yellow Daylily was first introduced to the West in the 19th century as an ornamental plant. In Chinese culture it is considered a symbol of good luck and happiness.
How to care for your Hemerocallis Citrina
