Cortaderia Aureolineata/Gold Band, also known as ‘Variegated Pampas’ and is a recipient of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit. It is a compact, clump forming, evergreen grass with long arching, narrow, rough-edged green leaves that are edged with a fine line of yellow. In August it bears dense silvery feather-like flowers tinged with pink making it very popular with florists in their indoor flower arrangements.
Looking After Your Cortaderia Aureolineata/Gold Band
The Cortaderia Auerolineata is generally pest and disease free and is an easy to grow ornamental grass in many if not all locations. A low maintenance Pampas grass which can benefit from a sunny area in all types of garden. Plant in a fertile, moist, but well drained soil, feeding with a good quality general purpose fertiliser early Spring to encourage strong fresh new growth during the coming season. Provide Winter protection from the harshest of cold/drying winds during the first year, whilst still getting established.
