Cornus Norman Hadden or ‘Flowering Dogwood, a recipient of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit is a semi evergreen, beautiful small tree of graceful, spreading habit which develops peeling bark with age. The creamy white four petalled flower heads open in June, turning to deep pink in July, followed by large crops of hanging strawberry-like fruits in the Autumn. In mild areas the dark green foliage is retained until the Spring, in others, some leaves persist over the Winter and turn a soft red in the Autumn. Cornus Norman Hadden is a cross between Cornus Kousa and Cornus Capitata appearing to retain the virtues of both varieties.
