Cornus Flaviramea, also known as ‘Yellow-stem Dogwood’ and a holder of the prestigious RHS Award of Garden Merit. It is a deciduous shrub that is known for its vibrant yellow stems that add colour to the winter landscape. In the Spring, it produces clusters of white, star-shaped flowers which are followed by blue-black berries that attract birds to the garden. The leaves of the Yellow Twig Dogwood are glossy and dark green, turning to shades of red and purple in the Autumn.
This versatile shrub can grow up to 2.5 metres tall and 4 metres wide, but can also be pruned to maintain a smaller size. It is hardy making it suitable for growing in a wide range of climates. It also thrives in full sun to partial shade and can grow in a variety of soil types, as long as it is well-drained.
