Chasmanthium Latifolium, also known as ‘Sea Oats’, or Spangle Grass, a shade tolerant ornamental grass which is a loosely tufted, upright, spreading grass with narrow, lance shaped mid-green leaves from amongst which the gracefully arching stems bearing pendant or diamond shaped, flattened spike-lets late Summer, and noted for its distinctive, drooping seed heads which turn purplish-bronze during the Autumn, a lovely contrast to the mid-green leaves, turning into a vibrant yellow when entering and throughout the winter period. The stems bearing the pendant-like seed heads are a firm favorite for the florist, and often used for indoor flower arrangements.
