Chasmanthium Latifolium is also known as ‘Sea Oats’, or ‘Spangle Grass’ and is a shade tolerant, loosely tufted, upright ornamental grass with narrow, lance shaped mid-green leaves. The gracefully arching stems bear pendant or diamond shaped spikelets in late Summer and it is noted for its drooping seed heads which turn purplish-bronze during the Autumn. A lovely contrast to the mid-green leaves which turn vibrant yellow when entering the Winter period. The stems which bear the pendant-like seed heads are a firm favourite for florists and are often used for indoor flower arrangements.
