Chaenomeles X Suberba Lemon and Lime, commonly known as ‘Japanese Flowering Quince’, is a deciduous, medium sized, compact shrub.  It has spiny arching branches along which mid green leaves provide an ideal backdrop for the abundance of cup shaped, pale greenish-yellow flowers.  These fade to creamy white and are later followed by fragrant edible greenish-yellow fruits, often used in the making of preserves. A suitable addition to the garden for planting against a wall or fence.

Looking After Your Chaenomeles X Superba Lemon and Lime

Generally pest and disease free the Chaenomeles X Superba Lemon and Lime is an easy to grow deciduous flowering shrub in many if not all locations.  A low maintenance shrub which can benefit from a sunny or partially shaded area in all types of garden.   Plant in a fertile, moist, but well drained soil, applying a good quality general purpose fertiliser early Spring to help promote strong, fresh new growth during the coming season.
