Caryopteris Dark Knight, commonly known as ‘Bluebeard’, is a smallish woody shrub, that forms an upright mound of bright green leaves and fragrant dark blue flowers formed on new wood from early Summer through to the Autumn.  Excellent plant for attracting the many varieties of butterflies, bees, and other pollinators to garden. Ideal for planting within the shrub border or can be planted successfully in containers.

How to care for your Caryopteris Dark Knight

  1. Plant in well-drained soil in a location that receives full sun.
  2. Water the plant regularly to establish the root system, then reduce watering as the plant becomes more established and drought tolerant. Be careful not to over-water.
  3. Fertilise the plant with a balanced, water-soluble fertiliser every 4-6 weeks during the growing season.
  4. Regularly remove any dead or yellowing leaves to keep the plant looking its best.
  5. Prune back the plant in late Winter or early Spring to control the size and shape of the plant, and to encourage new growth.

By following these tips, you can help ensure that your Caryopteris Dark Knight stays healthy and thrives. This plant can be slow to establish itself, but once it does, it can be a beautiful and long-lasting addition to any garden.
