Buddleja Pink Pagoda, commonly known as ‘Butterfly Bush’, is a large deciduous shrub with lance shaped mid green foliage, tinted with a slight shade of grey along gracefully arching branches.   In Summer this new variety of Buddleja produces pale pink clusters of long conical flowers with an orange eye at the centre.  These highly scented, nectar rich flower heads become a magnet for the many insects and pollinators to the garden and is an ideal shrub for use as a specimen when planted within a border or an area which requires some additional colour.

Looking after Your Buddleja Pink Pagoda

Generally pest and disease free, although may be affected by aphids, it is an easy to grow Summer flowering shrub in many if not all locations. A low maintenance garden plant which can benefit from a sunny or partially shaded area in all types of garden.  However, the sunnier the aspect the better the flower colour.  Buddleja in general will tolerate most soil types, but will benefit from a fertile, moist, but well drained one. For best results plant during early Spring applying a generous mulch of well rotted garden compost around the base. For the more established plants prune hard back early Spring and apply a good quality general purpose fertiliser to help encourage fresh new growth.
