Buddleja Davidii Globosa, also known as ‘Butterfly Bush’ or ‘Chilean Orange Ball Tree’ is a holder of the much coveted RHS Award of Garden Merit. A semi-evergreen shrub of vigorous, upright habit with the wrinkled lance shaped dark green leaves having a tawny coloured underside. From May, heads of fragrant, orange flowers are formed in clusters making it a magnet for the many butterflies, bees and other beneficial pollinators visiting the garden. Creates a stunning focal point within beds or as a backdrop against a wall or fence.
Looking After Your Buddleja Davidii Globosa
Generally disease free, although may be affected by aphids, the Buddleja Globosa is an easy to grow Summer flowering shrub in many if not all locations. A low maintenance plant which can benefit from a sunny or partially shaded area in all types of garden from informal cottage style gardens to coastal or town/city gardens. Buddleja will tolerate most soils, but will benefit from a fertile, moist, well drained one. Can be drought tolerant once established.
