Looking After Your Buddleja Davidii Black Knight
Generally pest and disease free, although may be affected by aphids ( easily treated ). An easy to grow flowering ornamental shrub in many if not all locations. A low maintenance shrub which can benefit from from a sunny or partially shaded area in all types of garden from informal cottage planting schemes to coastal or town gardens, the sunnier the position the better the flower colour. Buddleja will tolerate most soil types but will benefit from a fertile, moist, but well drained one. Remove any spent flowers to encourage continual blooming throughout the Summer. Any pruning required to remove damaged or unwanted branches to maintain shape is best achieved after flowering in late Autumn or early Spring, when the addition of a good quality multi-purpose fertiliser will help encourage fresh new growth in the coming season.
