Looking After Your Azara Microphyllus
A low maintenance and easy to grow ornamental garden shrub which is generally pest and disease free, preferring a sunny or partially shaded area, within a sheltered area of the garden away from any cold and drying wind, this eye catching fragrant evergreen will also adapt well to shade making this a suitable candidate for growing against a wall providing a back ground splash of deep green colour for any border. Azara will thrive quite happily in most soils provided they are moist and well drained. A good mulch provided during the Autumn will help to protect the roots from any frost, early Spring makes an ideal time to tidy this shrub by removing any damaged or unwanted branches, and feed with a good quality general purpose fertiliser to encourage strong, healthy growth.
