Looking After Your Astrantia Roma
Generally pest and disease free, an easy to grow clump forming perennial requiring very little maintenance and ideal for the long lasting cut flower arrangements, giving a plentiful supply throughout the Summer months. Plant in a humus rich, moist soil in a sunny or partially shaded area of the garden, the sunnier the position the better the flower colour, but always ensure the soil is kept moist. Late Autumn generally give a good tidy by removing any dead foliage/flower stalks and give a good mulch of well rotted garden compost, then in the Early Spring feed with a good quality general purpose fertiliser to encourage strong, healthy fresh new growth in the coming season.
