Anemone Sylvestris, commonly known as Snowdrop wildflower, is a mound forming, early flowering herbaceous perennial which provides dark green, deeply cut foliage and sat proudly above these on slender are small white flowers with yellow centres. The Anemone gets the common name from the small buds which hang like snowdrops and then begin to straighten as they emerge into the beautiful flowers. This would look fantastic planted in any type of garden an any full sunlight or partial shaded area.
Looking After Your Anemone Sylvestris
Generally pest and disease free, an easy to grow early flowering perennial for any keen gardener to grow successfully, preferring a humus rich, moist, but well drained soil in a sunny or partially shaded area of the garden, the sunnier the position the better the flower colour. Cut back any spent flower stalks after flowering. Should over crowding occur, lift and divide late Autumn/early Spring and apply a generous mulch of well rotted garden compost to help protect the roots during the colder months. Use a multi purpose fertilizer early Spring to help encourage fresh new growth for the coming season. Suitable for coastal planting.
