Slow growing, so can be used as a patio plant in a suitable container, equally suitable as a pond side or as part of a rockery planting scheme giving the garden an oriental  feel. A stunning ornamental addition making this an ideal plant for the smaller garden.

Looking After Your Acer Palmatum Dissectum

Generally pest and disease free, although may be affected by Aphids during the summer months, an easy to grow small ornamental tree, which can benefit from semi or dappled shaded area of the garden and preferring a fertile, moist but well drained soil. In spring feed well with a good quality general purpose fertilizer to promote new growth in the coming season and apply a good layer of well rotted garden compost around the base of the plant to help retain moisture throughout the summer. Very little if any pruning is required, although removal of any damaged or unwanted branches should be done in the dormant season usually early Spring. Some protection from very cold winds to prevent leaf damage will be beneficial.
