Acacia Dealbata, also known as the Mimosa or Silver Wattle and a native of New South Wales, Australia is an evergreen tree or large shrub with attractive finely cut or fern like, glaucous, silvery-green leaves. Its yellow sweetly scented, ball shaped flowers, which are formed in the Autumn, but do not bloom until the following Spring act as a magnet for the local wildlife, bees, insects and butterflies. Ideal for growing as a conservatory plant or within a sheltered part of the garden. Plants sent are 2m tall +.
Looking After Your Acacia Dealbata
Acacia Dealbata ideally needs a sunny, south facing position, and sheltered away from any cold winds during the winter months, and planted in a light, free draining soil. Generally maintenance free with pruning only required for shaping and a light tidy after flowering. Often found growing in coastal areas where the climate tends to be a little milder.
