Danae Racemosa, also known as Alexandrian Laurel,  is a medium-sized, evergreen, hardy shrub with arching stems that give this plant a polished metallic appearance, the leaves which are really flattened stems and used to store water during dry days, producing greenish flowers followed by glossy red berries.

Caring for your Danae Racemosa

The Danae Racemosa is a rare and hard to find plant in the UK, originating from Turkey. The Danae is hardy in most areas of the UK and can survive severe winters using best judgement. It is recommended to shelter the shrub from harsh cold winds and known to favour south facing, west facing or east facing positioning.

Suggested planting areas for the Danae Racemosa include flower beds, borders, cottage gardens and informal gardens and typically disease and pest free!
